The Lincoln Amphitheatre is adding a smaller, three-date Sunday series of events called “Amp Unplugged” to its 2022 performance schedule. The events will be late afternoon “matinee” performances and be diverse in genre.

Amp Unplugged performances are for all ages with seating as general admission and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Concessions, including beer/wine for guests 21 and over, will be available.

Sunday, August 28, 4 p.m. central: Kentucky Shine.

Sunday, September 11, 4 p.m. central: “American Roots” presented by members of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sunday, October 9, 4 p.m. central: Duke Tumatoe & the Power Trio.

Sales for the 2022 Jasper Strassenfest Half Pot event are now officially underway with tickets available for purchase at the Jasper Chamber of Commerce office and various on-site locations through August 8th. The second annual event is in conjunction with the Jasper Strassenfest which will take place August 4-7th. Proceeds will benefit the VU Jasper Scholarship Fund to include one year of full tuition, a $500 book stipend, and laptop for local scholarship recipients. Proceeds will also help to provide a strong financial base for the continuation and growth of the Strassenfest andJasper Strassenfest’s Half Pot event is back this year and the committee is ramping up ticket sales with set hours beginning Thursday, 7th at their booth located in front of the Southgate Shopping Center in Jasper. New this year, a second booth will be located in front of Ruler Foods for Saturday sales. The event is in conjunction with the Jasper Strassenfest which will take place August 4-7th. In 2021, Half Pot winner, Steve Brenner, took home $70,555 and a donation of over $35,000 was made to the VU Jasper Foundation, providing area students with a one-year full tuition scholarship and fees.

Tickets can be purchased with cash only during booth hours at the Southgate Shopping Center: Thursdays and Fridays from 3PM until 6PM and Saturdays and Sundays from 8AM until 2PM through Sunday, July 31st. Northside (Ruler Foods) booth hours will be Saturdays from 11AM-2PM. The committee offers quick and easy drive-thru sales and are utilizing hand-held mobile devices that print a receipt showing your purchased raffle numbers. Most transactions take less than a minute to complete. The ticket booth will move to 4th Street for the Jasper Strassenfest on Thursday, August 4th and sales will continue there for the duration of the fest.

In addition to the VU Jasper Scholarship fund, the balance will be used for the financial stability of the Jasper Strassenfest and protection of the non-profits involved. Similar to another successful area half pot event put on by the West Side Nut Club, the Jasper Strassenfest will once again be utilizing state certified raffle software company, Ascend. You must be 18 years of age to participate in the half pot raffle. Current pot total, license number, rules and regulations can be found online at jasperstrassenfest.org/halfpot or on site at the ticket sales booth.

The Huntingburg Senior Center is sponsoring a trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota September 22 — 30, 2022. Included in the trip is Motorcoach transportation, 8 nights lodging, 8 breakfasts, 8 dinners, guided tour of Chicago, Wisconsin Dells cruise, Corn Palace & Wall Drug, Badlands National Park, Crazy Horse Mountain carving, Museum of the North American Indiana, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Journey Museum, Black Hills Gold Factory, Historic Deadwood, Mt. Moriah Tour, and Riverfront Casino. Cost is $1,329 per person (dbl occupancy). Tri-cap RSVP is sponsoring a gaming trip to Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, the Badlands, and the Black Hills of South Dakota! This motor-coach trip through Diamond Tours, Inc. is from Sat, July 23- Wed, August 3, 2022. The spacious, video and restroom equipped motorcoach will leave from the Jasper 3rd Avenue Dollar General and will set off for the amazing northwest.
